Luthor's League of Super-Villains

Lex Luthor is revealed to be the mysterious figure who broke Copperhead out of prison in Secret Society of Super-Villains #3 - War for Earthdeath!. He declares himself the new leader of the Secret Society of Super-Villains (though the Wizard attempts to fight him for the title). Luthor orders Funky Flashman to recruit Felix Faust and Matter Master to the team in order to take down Superman.

The two new recruits plus the Wizard travel to Sapporo, Japan where the new Superman movie is being filmed. The magical villains mistake actor Gregory Reed for the real Superman and launch an attack on the film set.

Captain Comet, who is visiting with Hawkman and Hawkwoman onboard their Star Cruiser, sees the Wizard in the news coverage of the attack and declares the Secret Society must be involved somehow. He and Hawkwoman fly to Japan and apprehend the villains after a brief battle.

Back at the Sinister Citadel Lex Luthor takes his leave, furious at the Society's failure. Funky Flashman calls the police to alert them of Luthor's presence before the super-villain can plan his revenge.
